What’s the difference between “I missed talking to you” and “I miss talking with you”? A lot of people are not aware that there is actually a huge grammatical distinction in these two sentences. In particular, while “I am sorry for missing our meeting earlier today,” tends also sound more formal than just saying ‘Hey!’
The reason why this matters so much has everything do with how we engage others during conversations–whether it’s by asking questions or making statements.”
We use singular verbs when we are only referring to one subject. For instance, if I asked you what your name was and you responded with “Raul,” I would say “My name is Maya.” If I had two Rauls in the room however, then I would have to specify which one that I was talking about by saying “Raul is my name.”
The same thing applies in when you are talking about yourself–it’s only one person, therefore it requires a singular verb. For example, “My name is Maya.”

When we see someone and begin talking to them again, it feels like they’ve been missing from our lives. It’s almost as if a part of us is relieved when finally being able talk with somebody; even though the conversation may be brief (or not) there are some things that can’t possibly happen in either situation – namely missed conversations.
I was wondering if you’ve been feeling down lately? It’s really rare for me to not hear from my friend and I worry about how things might be going with work or school.
I hope all is well. Last time we spoke, it felt like there were some issues between us; am interested in knowing what those were so that maybe together can figure out where they went wrong (?). Let me know when would be best time-wise before another Palaver happens 🙂
“I miss talking with you.” There is only one explanation for this – the person has been too busy and can’t talk right now, but they’ll be back soon so don’t worry about it.
This is one of the few examples where we can find a happy reason for this answer. A lot of people won’t provide an expla nation when they said they missed you. “Why do they not want to tell me?” “Do I have something on my face ?”
Well, the truth is – it’s only one of your problems. The other problem is that people don’t lie when replying with this answer . If there are no special circumstances, they really mean it.
nation for this and will leave no room for interpretation.
“I am busy, I’ll get back to you later, mkay?”
The person is simply too busy to talk right now and they /will/ get back to you as soon as possible. If the person misses talking with you, they’ll say so.
If a person is too busy to talk right now but will still answer your call or message later on, they should give some other kind of explanation.
“I have nothing left to say to you.”
This is the most direct answer to this question. The person has either gotten tired of talking to you, or they are trying to convey that there is nothing left they can say right now because it would lead nowhere.
It’s also possible the person is lying about having nothing else to say and will still keep on talking with you on and until you finally collapse from the sheer stupidity of it all. We’d like to tell you that this is unlikely, but don’t hold your breath.
“I’m tired of talking with you right now.”
