I’ve been wondering why Disney stopped making my babysitter’s a vampire, it was the only good show they had left. I mean come on! It used to be so great before everything else became boring as heck and then this happens – what are you guys doing over there at The Mouse House?
Disney Channel surprised everyone when it announced they were planning to revive one of their most popular shows, “That’s so Raven”. The show was especially loved by those who grew up in the early 2000s and fans of the show have been waiting for years to find out if there would ever be a sequel.
We’re excited to announce that we will be producing a new series called That’s So Raven: 20 Years Later that takes place ten years after Pretty Little Liars: Never Have I Ever. Raven Baxter is now thirty-seven and divorced from her ex-husband Corey (who remains best friends with her). She has two children with Corey; Cory Jr., an intelligent boy whose interests involve solving mysteries, Chelsea, a very smart girl who likes playing sports and hanging out with friends.

The ratings were very low
Disney had no control over the cancellation of My Babysitter’s a Vampire. The show is produced by Fresh TV, which made it difficult for them since they lost their Canadian broadcaster and needed someone who would be willing to foot the bill on this expensive production quality-wise series; however despite these hardships there still seem like plenty more episodes left in store.
Fresh TV says that although they are disappointed about Disney’s decision, there is certainly more My Babysitter’s a Vampire to come. They have the first three seasons written and are currently looking for funding to make them. These thirteen episodes will be made eventually – given enough time.
But there is no one who has approached them about production or distribution. Nickelodeon was always supposed to be a home for the show, and it still could — we all know of examples of shows that started off on another channel (Power Rangers) and then transferred to Nick. They hope this will happen with My Babysitter’s a Vampire , but they aren’t counting on it.
The writers told On The Air Palooza that Disney had actually been looking into possibly picking up the new season after its cancellation from Nick. There were a lot of ideas in the works, especially considering they would have access to more mature content in Seasons 4 & 5 which would allow them some very creative storylines. But when they heard the news about how Buena Vista was going to handle the home-video releases of Seasons 1 & 2, they decided it would be best not to go with Disney. The biggest problem was that Buena Vista wanted to hold off releasing the first two seasons on DVD until a few months after the third season premiere. This would have made things difficult for those fans who had been waiting for seasons 3 and 4. The writers knew that they wouldn’t have been able to keep the fans satisfied over a long period of time, so they decided to take their show elsewhere. It was an extremely difficult decision, but in the end it’s something that needed to be done.
I don’t think this has anything to do with the relationship between Disney and Fresh TV (that would be pretty far-fetched). Maybe they were just not willing to invest their money into an expensive series like this one, which was targeted mostly at children. After all, it wouldn’t make much sense at the end of the day for them to create a show that cannot be broadcast in some territories and yet they still have to foot the bill and eventually don’t even get a good return out of it (I am talking about money people).\
